Bog cotton raku vase

Raku fired vase with bog cotton, butterwort and sundew design. This vase was hand thrown, bisque fired and plants hand painted before raku firing. The raku firing has given the background of this vase a smokey satin finish reminiscent of the peat in which bog cotton and sundew grow.

Vase measures 13 cm high. Please note that raku fired pieces are porous, somewhat like a terracotta plant pot. If this piece is intended to be used with water please note that the surface underneath may become slightly damp. You may wish to place it on a coaster, or put a watertight container inside the vase. This is not a food safe item.
